But I was in town by 3:30...so like 8 hours including breaks!! Pretty impressive! I saw the guys again and walked into town with them - through a HUGE downpour!! Maybe I should've bought the waterproof shoes!! Oh well- I have newspaper in them now so hopefully they will dry for tomorrow.
My whole gang is here. What a motley bunch. None of them can walk properly. I don't know how a bunch of guys can be so weak :p and they have almost all of them had some stomach bug! I better not get it!!! But I am made of stronger stuff!
This seems like a really nice town. My albergue is right next to the cathedral! I will go take a look and try to get some pictures, but its raining so they won't be that good...
Everyone else is staying at a different place and cooking dinner. Boring!! I have decided I am an expensive pilgrim! The one thing I have learned about myself is that I am more than willing to pay someone to do the stuff I don't want to do! That's what I work for - to make money to make my life easier! Right now the albergue lady is washing and drying all my clothes for me (including my sleeping bag-kill those mean bugs)!! I had no problem paying to have someone else take my bag for me today! And now I am going to pay someone to make me drinks and dinner!
I have added the 2 pics I took so far today! The big hill I had to climb and then the view of Astorga from the top before it started pouring! At least I got to use my new raincoat and at least its not 1000 degrees!!
Ok-must find a drink and maybe a friend! I think I am catching up to some of the people I started with. Annie said she saw the Aussie girl we started with 2 days ago and I think Astorga would be her stop today :)
